Is Trumpussolini going to shut down various Departments?

His appointment of Pruitt is interesting. Pruitt would love to shut down the EPA.
Appointing Carson to HUD is another indication of intent. He HATES the welfare system, and has spoken openly of his contempt for it.
Puzder will be tasked with shutting down the Department of Labor. He was CEO of Hardee’s and has railed against labor regulations.
Chao’s husband McConnell will profit handsomely if the Department of Transportation is shuttered.
DeVos will make money by shutting down the Department of Education through her private education company.
Price is a doctor and will make money by drastically cutting the Department of Health & Human Services.
Could it be that a government bloodbath is coming? Could Trump actually have the audacity to completely shut down these various Cabinet positions, returning the power back to the states?
Just speculation, but I’ll be curious to see what the results are.

Noonan nailed it.

This is Peggy Noonan in Feb 2016.
She wrote

There are the protected and the unprotected. The protected make public policy. The unprotected live in it. The unprotected are starting to push back, powerfully.
The protected are the accomplished, the secure, the successful—those who have power or access to it. They are protected from much of the roughness of the world. More to the point, they are protected from the world they have created. Again, they make public policy and have for some time.
I want to call them the elite to load the rhetorical dice, but let’s stick with the protected.
They are figures in government, politics and media. They live in nice neighborhoods, safe ones. Their families function, their kids go to good schools, they’ve got some money. All of these things tend to isolate them, or provide buffers. Some of them—in Washington it is important officials in the executive branch or on the Hill; in Brussels, significant figures in the European Union—literally have their own security details.
Because they are protected they feel they can do pretty much anything, impose any reality. They’re insulated from many of the effects of their own decisions.

Amazing blog post by Fredrik DeBoer

I am adding this to my very short list of fantastic Election 2016 autopsies.
My fear of Trumpussolini is secondary to my fear of the current PseudoLiberal Totalitarianism that enabled his election, pushing the reactionary “unprotected” to vote for him despite his obvious lack of qualifications.
(If you haven’t read Peggy Noonan’s pre-election essay on why he would probably win, it is enlightening in its explanation of the new Class divide, between those protected from criticism and consequences, versus the majority which are unprotected. Poor white boys spend years in jail for possession of marijuana too)
Unless Democrats confront the sclerotic leadership, which has sold its soul to banksters, warmongering globalists and narrow but vocal special interests (which, unsurprisingly, is the same problem Republicans have) any chance of gaining ground in 2018/20 will be nil. If Trumpussolini doesn’t fuck up the economy massively by 2020, the Left will be rendered to fringe party status by 2024.
We need leaders like you. I hope that you expand this blog post, then get a lot of exposure for “speaking truth to power” and use that pulpit to radically curb the current totalitarian tendencies of the modern Left.
Until the Left agrees on a consistent message of protecting civil liberties, opposition to imperial wars, stopping domestic spying and foreign covert operations, ending the Drug Wars, and drastically curtailing the powers of the banks, nothing will change.

Civil War is inevitable

From Brandon Smith at Alt-Market

So, here is the reality — when a movement like the social justice cult reverts to zealotry, there is nothing that can be done to persuade them otherwise. Some will leave the movement behind, but the majority will refuse to acknowledge that their ideology has failed to sway the masses, and that this might be due to the fact that their ideology is highly flawed. They will seek instead to FORCE us into compliance. This ensures that a violent conflict will eventually arise.

The danger is that while conservatives now appear to hold the keys to the behemoth that is government after wrestling it from the left (again, at least in appearance), we will be tempted to swing the cannons of the bureaucratic battleship towards our foes and in our favor. I’ll have to use the old Lord of the Rings analogy once again here — big government is like the “one ring;” it will always result in evil, no matter who is wearing it. Good people will take hold of it thinking they can resist abusing it and that they will exploit its incredible power to help others; and they will fall into darkness like everyone else.
.
The solution? Conservatives must face leftist extremists on equal ground. We must avoid the temptation of using government as a weapon to extinguish them. We must avoid stooping to their level. Otherwise, there is an serious risk that we will falter in our principles and become just as bad if not worse than the regressive left. And yes, this means a decentralized civil war — a war in which government is denied as a player. As long as conservatives refuse to wield government as a sword in our arsenal, we will win against all enemies. The second we wimp out and beg government to aid us in our fight, we will be co-opted and assimilated by the elites.
